Treating challenging foot and ankle issues
Dr. Ivar E. Roth began his career with a three year residency where he trained to become one of the country's first podiatrists to be acknowledged as a foot and ankle surgeon. With his combination of surgical training and over 30 years experience, Dr. Roth is one of very few podiatrists practicing at Hoag Hospital and Hoag-affiliated Newport Beach surgical centers. Dr. Roth has pioneered many surgical procedures including using plastic surgery incisions and suturing techniques to reduce post operative effects.
Surgery as a last resort
At Concierge Podiatry, our goal is to recommend surgery only after exhausting all other treatment options.
- "I won't recommend surgery unless I expect there is at least a 90% chance of a positive outcome for the patient." -- Dr. Ivar Roth
If surgery is the most appropriate option, the recommended surgical options will be those that focus on patient comfort and convenience. Dr. Roth will discuss the medical efficacy and patient effects of all options before seeking informed consent. During surgery, his primary concerns are always patient safety and comfort.
